Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival day

Wednesday | Warm-Up ride

Your Artu guides will meet you at Girona or Barcelona airport and take you to Can Terrades.

Once you’re checked in, our mechanics will build your bike, ensuring it’s ready for riding over the next few days.

A warm-up ride consisting of a few short loops will give you time to stretch your legs out and get used to your bike.

Day 2

To Banyoles

Thursday | 80km - 1,000 metres

Today's ride will take you to Lake Banyoles (site of the 1992 Olympic rowing events). We can stop for a coffee in one of the cafes in front of the lake.

Day 3

Gravel to Girona

Monday | 87km - 950 metres

Today, we will be taking the longest route, which is relatively flat, in the direction of Girona, following yesterday's hilly ride. If you desire, we have the option to add a few extra kilometres and make a stop at one of the renowned coffee spots in Girona.

Day 4

To the coast

Saturday | 128km - 1,000 metres

During the week, you were increasing your strength while cycling. Now, it is time for us to embark on our longest ride of the week, heading towards the coast. You will observe a noticeable alteration in the surroundings.

Day 5

Departure Day

Sunday

Start your day with a nourishing breakfast, appreciate the beautiful view, and make full use of the provided facilities at Can Terrades. Prior to your departure, our bike mechanic will carefully pack your bicycles before the transfer to the airport for your journey back home.

Overview

The AGS project selects, trains, and prepares injured veterans and members of the disabled community to attempt physical challenges, often expeditionary in nature. Our challenges provide a clear focus for our beneficiaries (supported through the AGS foundation, registered charity number 1173076), which is a powerful tool in rehabilitation and provides access to a support network.

Adaptive challenge Ltd provides people interested in supporting this project with the unique opportunity to participate in challenges with our teams.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Girona, this four-night journey promises not only exhilarating rides through picturesque landscapes but also an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on others' lives.

Accommodation is at the world class Artu Lodge, located in 160 Acres of beautiful countryside and vineyards. Their name means adventure and they believe in using outdoor experiences to build resilience, overcome challenge and have a good time while doing it.

We’ll be joined on this event by bike mechanics, performance trainers and a private chef.
